Greetings,
I've decided to add some breadth to my PPCB forum activity to dilute the percentage of elementary questions I've been posting recently, so here we have it:
PedalPCB's take on the famed Lovetone Big Cheese
This thing tastes good. It tastes real good.
I checked out this PCB to see what all the hype was about and after testing it, I couldn't get it into an enclosure fast enough. All sorts of sounds are possible with this thing, from a number of classic fuzz tones to a smooth overdrive that I was surprised to find: easy on the curds with the tone setting at the cheese-wedge, but since I don't need to use it as an overdrive, I've got it set to a nice dark fuzz- tight, but hairy, seen here:
I matched the control labels by ear using a few internet videos, so I could be wrong, but I'm 80% sure, which was good enough for me. Cow graphics etched into a 125B aluminum enclosure with ferric chloride.
Thanks for looking!
