They're cartoon people, they're only meant to have 3 fingers and (occasionally) opposable thumbs.
Early animation required 24 drawings per second, so even the pro-animators at the time struggled to draw that fast — most people can't even draw a lone doodle in a single second — but now AI with predictive algorithmic guesstimation can produce up to as much as 36 drawings per second...
I think even today's pro-animators must eat a lot of celery to be able come up with that shit so fast.
