worrying about their hurt feelings doesn't compute when you can clearly read their post histories over at fsb and diysb ... it's because unrealized dollars are considered to be at stake and nothing more. I'd argue that anyone choosing the DIY route wasn't going to buy your product in the first place. Their ire would be better placed with the Reverb idiots that can't wait to turn a hobby into a shoddily executed hustle.

I think this is also double true for a distortion/gain pedal. I'm still inclined to maybe buy a modulation or time based effect depending on what it is, but since I got into building I'm hard pressed to justify buying any kind of drive unless it's really special.
