My pcb collection is getting outta hand

Don’t most of them have the number?
Yeah, they all have a number, and a few have the name. I just can never remember the numbers so I always have to look them up to figure out what they actually are, unless the PCB is really distinctive.

That's why when I receive a new batch of PCBs, I get out green painter's tape and with felt-pen label the name of the PCB, AND what circuit it compares to.
Then I put it back in its bag/envelope and into a giant box — never to be seen again, let alone built.

I got 3 boards from madbean and at least 8 more from PPCB (haven’t pulled trigger yet). That number could inflate exponentially before midnight, who knows.

Uh... 27?!
  • 15 from PPCB
  • 5 from Aion
  • 4 from Effects Layouts
  • 3 from JLC PCB (unrelated to Black Friday)
So quite a bit, but I think this was basically my entire backlog and I had held off from ordering anything but JLC for about 2 months waiting for this sale. Just wish Lectric-FX or Parasit had a sale...

I won’t share my full spreadsheet in order to save myself some embarrassment, re: quantity, but, this is how I format my spreadsheet:

PCB NameTotal QuantityQuantity BuiltManufacturerCategorySub CategoryClone of?Minimum Enclosure Size
Lola Phase (2 PCB set)10Dead End FXModulationPhaserMutron BiPhase1550J
Runtime Error134MadbeanGainDistortionSystech Overdrive1590A

7 boards from EffectsLayouts, I have 7 more in the PPCB cart but might wait until the Pastel and OctaKing, maybe even the Expresso are ready. Even if the discount is worse I might save money on the shipping.

Looked through Aion but really only RedShift caught my eye, and shipping for one PCB is horrible.

havent looked at effectslayouts in a few months. Might have to go peruse the selection.
His delay offerings are pretty great, love that site.

Here is my build log, this is the master spreadsheet for all of my builds and what is coming up. Each batch of PCBs has their own spreadsheets for part ordering and what not but this is the bit out of date master.

I love spreadsheets. I have about 100 built up boards that work but never got boxed up. Usually that means I built it, fiddled with it for a while and thought "meh". I have them all on a sheet. Somewhere...
