Nationwide is on your side?

It's fine, got here safe and sound, I had a bump with a tree during a storm in my car, Nationwide voided my policy and cancelled my claim, for an "undisclosed driver in my household" I'm divorced, my kids are grown, but since Vikki and I live together (in her house) I should have had her on my policy! Mind you I was driving when I hit fallen tree in middle of road

I really don't like insurance companies and their bullshit

Make an ambulance chaser earn his fees!! the 60's may have been the age of aquarius but for the last 30 it's been the age of litigation:p

That's nuts! Any excuse... My mum used to work for a big law firm here in Australia (she wasn't a lawyer though) and warned us about who not to insure with because they were always getting sued.

We've had excellent results with who we've insured with. (Sorry) Years ago my car was written off while parked outside the front of my house, parked on the verge during a hailstorm. Every single panel of the car was dented by hailstones. But nothing actually broke, so it was completely roadworthy. So the insurance co paid me out for the car and because so many cars were damaged in this storm I was allowed to buy it back for scrap value and keep driving it. So I did. The car was exactly as nice to drive as it was before, it just looked more like a golfball than before. What do I care??

So I had to reinsure it and I did so for a decent value - more than the scrap value. And it got written off again, parked in exactly the same place. This time it was a drunk 60 yr old woman who wanted MacDonalds after a boozey day - she came roaring down the street at 90 degrees to ours, crashed sideways into my car, just missed the tree on out verge and landed in a pile of bricks which used to be our front fence before she hit it. All four wheels were off the ground so she was stuck. We called an ambo - she was fine but my car was not. She blew .16.

In the end we didn't bother replacing the car. We have one car now which works for us just fine. I have a motorbike which is more fun anyway.
