New project stuff maybe?

I'm a Jeffrey and I have never met a Jeffery. I've decided that it's just how a quarter of all people THINK it's spelled. I have absolutely nothing to back this claim. Do Jefferies pronounce it with 3 syllables?
I’ve seen Jeffery plenty as a last name, but not so much as a first name. I’ve seen Jeffrey hundreds of times as a first name, but not much as a last name (though Jeffreys I’ve seen). Go figure!

Well I finally had time to dig this back out and it turns out Jeff was right and I'm a big dumb idiot. I had messed up the FX loop connections and it ruined everything, the pedal actually seems to be working. My main guitar is at my guitarist's house and my backup guitar was damaged to the point of being unusable, but I tried it on bass and everything seems to be working as expected. It has boatloads of gain, as you would assume, and it can get LOUD. I have band practice tonight so I'll ask my guitarist to bring my guitar so I can try this thing out later tonight and maybe even get a quick and dirty recording.

I was stupid when I gave Jeff the board outline because I didn't account for the fact that 1590DD has 6 screws instead of 4, but the circuit works so all it should need now is a minor revision to make it fit in the box and we'll be good to go.

I expect the demo to be quick and very dirty by the looks of that thing.

Unfortunately the notch needs to fall right in the middle of the two switches, it's in the middle of the board. I'll talk to Jeff and we'll take a look at the layout and see what needs to be done. Hopefully it doesn't mess things up too much.

Yeah? . . . . we know what you been doin' down in that basement. . . .

Unfortunately nothing even close to that exciting. My backup guitar has a 3D printed body, and when my A/C was out for 10 days over the summer the heat and humidity in the basement seemed to affect the epoxy that was holding the pieces together. Shouldn't be a hard fix, but my new 3D printer gives much better quality prints than the old one, so I'm debating printing a new body and I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Speaking of which, I just got back from practice and my guitarist forgot to bring my guitar :( so I guess we're still not getting a demo tonight. I'll throw some epoxy on this strat and see if it's better by morning. I really want to hear this preamp and the bass just isn't doing it justice.

Emphasis added for clarification.

So I was off a couple of mm to the left, looks allright now!;)

So if anyone has an oscillating saw you can turn 1590DD into a 4-hole enclosure and make a v0.1 PCB fit. It's a shame really because the pre-drilled Tayda enclosure actually fits really well otherwise.

But a couple issues:
  1. The enclosure walls are even thicker than Tayda 125B, so if I put washers on the pot shafts I can't get the nuts to thread on
  2. I forgot 1590DD is shorter, so the heatsink tab of the IRF740 would hit the enclosure lid, which is bad news. It's going to have to move on the layout, but for now I just cut it off.
The epoxy on my strat has cured so I'll tension up the strings and plug into this thing now, see how much quieter it is with humbuckers than with single coil bass pickups.
