New Tayda website

I like the Tayda website redesign! A few observations - I noticed not everything added to the cart is displaying. Makes it easy to double a quantity by mistake. Everything displays at checkout though. Also I see at checkout something about Tayda Rewards, which is probably something to come to get excited about. Larger photos, fast display search results, and a new look to the sale items category are also part of the new site. Hugo, if you’re out there, please tell those responsible WELL DONE! Great effort toward major improvements.

I noticed the cart displays on multiple pages, number shown per page differs in the cart and in the saved carts. I also like the redesign.

Did they already offered faceplate printing before? I never noticed.

Nope. Brand New. looks like the only way to order that is by contacting them though. Also requires DXF files rather than SVG, which will be a bit of a pain for most of us I assume. Quite a few extra steps for anyone using inkscape or affinity, but i think illustrator has some DXF compatibility these days.

call me a hater of change. Im sure once i’m used to it… faceplates will be nice i currently do jlc for that, this could be an option. Was actually going to look at amplify fun for it.

If one desires, the CS2 version of Illustrator (and photoshop) are essentially free for Windows, but will run a bit jankily. Might could run it in a virtual machine or WINE. Check out the internet archive. Might be a faff for some, I'll grant, but it's quite easy to convert to DXF once you get it running.

I don’t see this and amplifyfun as overlapping *too* much.

Amplifyfun faceplates are all engraved two-tone plastic. Looks like these are all aluminum or stainless, and can be powder coated and UV printed. Definitely curious to try it, but I imagine it’ll be different enough from amplifyfun that I’ll want to use both in different contexts.

My order history was not displaying until today. That was my main gripe. I’m a fan of old school web design, so I do miss the old one. I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

There's a lot of new parts that seem really nice to have.

Some HV caps for c2c projects, a wah enclosure, new paintjobs, some small signal transformers, some more pot and wima cap options. Not stuff you need for every project but good offerings regardless.

Im super excited about the face plate service because im starting to get more interested in 500 modules
