Never heard him before; I was cruising through a truly lovely site (for we here are all DIYers) of a man that mainly writes about (to me, at least), fairly arcane bits of recording gear. Some of it designed and made by him, or his various friends that are also craftsmen, to his designs. Really clever multiple mike holders, some with links to the files. I tend to be very fond of sites that show a level of dedication that borders on the need for medication. (Not that I am at all concerned about this particular man.)

So, in this case, he wanted to record both singer and guitar at the same time, (and with the same sense of acoustic space that close in miking doesn't really achieve), but with as little crosstalk as possible, so he could edit somewhat independently. He then designed and printed the triple mike array that he used in a friend's shop.

 
I like upright, I like effects — I especially love upright with effects.



There's hard stuff, funky stuff, ambient stuff ... nothing fishy with Red Snapper, they're just great!


Been a long while since I last listened to Ali Friend, long overdue for a good deep dive — gotta get my upright wet wet wet!
