Too soon!I bet this one uses $5 diodes...
One of my biggest pet peeves in general these days...My favourite part is saying “if you know, you know” and then proceeding to explain absolutely every dumb thing about it.
It claims to be the "finest true to vintage spec" tube screamer out there. Featuring some NOS components that are so unobtainium, it's like they never existed in the first place. Looking at you, 151588 diodes. It is just a Tube Screamer right?
*also looks at stash of 1S1588's*It claims to be the "finest true to vintage spec" tube screamer out there. Featuring some NOS components that are so unobtainium, it's like they never existed in the first place. Looking at you, 151588 diodes.
I guess I'm SOL when it comes to building a proper vintage spec tube screamer, all my darned NOS Toshiba diodes are 1S1588, shucks.

That's fair and after checking, it seems the builder's Instagram lists the correct part number for the diodes as well.Per the seller, not the builder.
Yes absolutely a second hand add I did not intend to blame thus on the builder that I have had not heard of or had contact with. This looks like a used pedal listing, no?
In my experience, the Apollo Approved guy is a super nice, no BS guy who does nice work.
That's it.Agreed.
And the seller’s ad is hilariously used car salesman-y, that we can all agree on.
Oh yes fully agree. My favourite part is saying “if you know, you know” and then proceeding to explain absolutely every dumb thing about it.
It's what happens when you tickle the tant.Yeesh. Lovely looking build though, then again I don't know what I don't know.
Ah wait: here's what I DON'T know...what's a wet tantalum?
