Oh the Corksniffery

It is just a Tube Screamer right?
It claims to be the "finest true to vintage spec" tube screamer out there. Featuring some NOS components that are so unobtainium, it's like they never existed in the first place. Looking at you, 151588 diodes.

I guess I'm SOL when it comes to building a proper vintage spec tube screamer, all my darned NOS Toshiba diodes are 1S1588, shucks.

*also looks at stash of 1S1588's*🍷

This looks like a used pedal listing, no?

In my experience, the Apollo Approved guy is a super nice, no BS guy who does nice work.
Yes absolutely a second hand add I did not intend to blame thus on the builder that I have had not heard of or had contact with.
It's just a comical second hand add that wants to be taken serious. Right.
Agreed.

And the seller’s ad is hilariously used car salesman-y, that we can all agree on.
That's it.
The guy who sells this is with this blurb is actually a very well respected Luthier and guitar repairer in Auckland NZ ...
It's all about a sale I suppose.

Yeesh. Lovely looking build though, then again I don't know what I don't know.

Ah wait: here's what I DON'T know...what's a wet tantalum?

In our local Gumtree ads a fella was advertising a "Vintage TS10" which he was asking Aust$1500 for - nearly a grand US. Back in the day I was talked into buying a then new TS10 by my bassplayer because he was convinced it would "improve my guitar tone". Not only did it sound very, very ordinary but it kept ejecting my guitar leads. I've never experienced that before or since.

I know Alpha pots are pretty high end compared to the tayda generic pots I use, but it terms of potentiometer quality they're still pretty close to bottom of the barrel. Might take that selling point out, or just say "bespoke +/-30% tolerance potentiometers give every pedal a unique character"
