PCB picking help ???

There is 4 possible pcb's that contain the Freidman tone .

Little Debbie
Thermonic Dist.
Brown Betty
Dirty Sanchez

Are they all the same , just different pcbs or what ?
What one of these would have the most realistic cracked tube amp-like sound ?
Style or lay out of the pcb makes no difference to me .

Thanks for any input on this !!

It depends on what controls you want, otherwise the circuits are all similar enough that you can get the same thing out of all of them.

Thermionic Distortion is the granddaddy to them all. This is the core "brown eye" sound.

Dirty Sanchez is similar to the Thermionic Distortion, but has slightly lower gain. This one has an added "Mid" control that the Thermionic Distortion doesn't have, but the "Tight" control on this one is a toggle switch.

Brown Betty is a hybrid between the Thermionic Distortion and Dirty Sanchez. It has all of the functionality of both, and the "Tight" control is a potentiometer instead of a toggle switch.

Little Debbie is a slimmed down straight-forward version of the Brown Betty, designed to fit in a 125B. You have Volume, Gain, Treble, Mid, and Bass potentiometers. The Presence and Tight controls are internal trim pots.

Between the four, I would lean towards either the Thermionic Distortion or the Little Debbie. The Thermionic is probably the most popular of the bunch.

Get the Brown Betty, it's the only one with both a TIGHT and a MID knob. You can always tweak a resistor or two to bump the gain up to match (or exceed!) the Thermionic.
