I still have a Classic 30 I bought in the 90s. It works but I'm thinking of selling it before it develops problems. Even though I'm pretty sure I could fix an issue, I've seen some videos of people taking it apart and I just don't have the patience for that.
Not sure, but I found thisI keep eyeing Peavey’s classic 20 mini head - it sounds incredible and is borderline a steal even at retail let alone what I’ve seen them go for used. Any chance you know of the repairability of the newer classic models?
Did the big players notice that others copy their preamps and sell them as pedal?
The time to market from Josh Homme’s mention of the peavey decade and coverage of St. Vincent’s pedal lines up with what I imagine would make sense for a company of Peavey’s size but that’s just a guess.Did the big players notice that others copy their preamps and sell them as pedal?
Peavey sent someone a C&D a few years ago for one of the preamp pedals... I can't recall who it was though.
I scored a Classic 30 for $100 because it was "broken" and the seller didn't want to deal with it. It had a bad tube.I still have a Classic 30 I bought in the 90s. I had the same rig!I did a pedal version of the 112 around 2013. Both the clean and dirt channels. IIRC, the dirt channel needed some tweaking, but it was kinda neat. I keep meaning to dust it off and give it another try. The 112 was my amp from HS through about 2000. At one point, I even had an A/DA MP-1 plugged though it!

Man, I had the version prior to the 112…the 75. Short run amp where it had the 2 knob drive “supersat” channel of the later 112 (vs the earlier 3 knob pre-post-sat version). Downside of the 75 was the only tone control for the dirt channel was the presence knob, while clean had the full 3 band eq. Was my first real amp, and I played it through high school and into college myself.I did a pedal version of the 112 around 2013. Both the clean and dirt channels.
