Q positions on the Cujo fuzz

I'm sure this is a rudimenmtary question, however, on the Cujo fuzz the Q1 and Q4 positions do they require either suface mount or through the board J202?
And please to all that read this... I'm and old guy trying to learn something I'm already unsure of my capabilities and aptitude to learn these things that I finds so interresting and want to learn as much as I possibly can! i.e.... Take it easy on an old fart! ;-) PLEASE!!!

That's correct, either SMD or through-hole, not both.
