Drain pump died yesterday. Part came first thing this morning and already back in business. Woohoo. Lots of sharp edges on this thing. I tried to take my finger tips off a few times. I guess thats why all the folks in videos are wearing gloves, lol.

Indeed. What make/model?
I should warn you about that Mercedes symbol (3-pointed star) in the back of the drum. If it's anything like my Whirlpool from 15 years ago, there is a Y-shaped bracket behind that 3-pointed star which attaches the drum to the axle. When that bracket fails, the drum will wobble around and the cost of parts exceeds the price of a new machine because you can only buy a complete tank & drum assembly. The Bosch machine that replaced the Whirlpool ran for 12 years before the electronics failed, again a very expen$ive repair. We'll see how long the new Electrolux lasts.

When a 1.75 year old washer/drum failed, my wife filed a dispute with the credit card company. In the fine print there's a 2 year automatic warranty on appliances. Sure enough we got a new one for free!

Its an Lg 8100 model. Its only about 5 years old but we have two kids and it gets heavy use. Now i just have to convince my wife that with the money I save by repairing it that new guitar really isn't that expensive
