Recommendation: Mids Forward Buzzy Fuzz

I'd recommend the JHS Crayon if the PCB would exist. Otherwise highly relevant to my own interest, I'm also looking for a good gated fuzz that really pushes some midrange but doesn't sound to starved.
 
I’m not particularly well-versed in fuzzes so I might be totally off-base here, but one of the first things that came to mind is the “Paper Scratcher”/EHX Ripped Speaker fuzz. I don’t know the topology or what family it’s in or whatnot (so may be the same as something already mentioned here) but reminds me of that “Spirit in the Sky” tone, which is kind of what I associate with your descriptors - buzzy, light on the low end, mids forward, etc.
 
Built the Death Cap and personally I think it's meh. Running my Harmonic Percolator into it is a different story.
