I am just curious, I ordered this after watching Pete Thorn's demo. I got it last week. Are theses in fact "vintage components" that "have been discontinued for several decades," and "will never be found again." ??

If they were unobtanium you'd think they wouldn't have to grind the part number off the opamp....

Why bother? We can't get em anyway, right?

If you ever decide to part with it I'd love to "rent" it for a short period of time....

Equivalents of most if not all those parts are still able to be bought today. Look like decent parts though.

Any way to tell what this circuit is based on/similar to?

Almost certainly Tube Screamer based. (Going by the name and the 220R resistor that appears to lead to the Tone pot)

There probably are some NOS, hard to find, parts. Those vintage parts give it some mojo, but you can build the same thing from Tayda parts--it just wouldn't have the coolness factor.

How's it sound? Pete Thorn makes anything sound good, so I don't count his demos.

I think Pete’s demo is pretty accurate. In my specific setup the BOLD switch was more noticeable and the HOLLOW was less noticeable of a change. There’s a part in his video where he is using it to boost/sculpt his “fat” Marshall tone. I had the same experience and that was fun! I only have had one session to mess around with it though.
