Fun tough came to welcome OU into the SEC last week. OU and Ole Miss understand the Heupel offense better than any other two teams in the country. Vols die a good job adjusting their play style to counter that without showing too much or the playbook. Defense was lights out. Gave up it's first offensive TD since the last game of the regular season last year. It was in the 4th playing prevent. O-line depth is a genuine concern though.
Vols have a bye to get right on the OL. Still waiting for EDGE James Pearce to have a breakout game but he's getting double teamed
a lot.
Other take aways from the SEC:
Is Mizzou that bad or Vandy that good? Local boys in black and gold are playing with a lot of heart, regardless.
Ole Miss starts SEC play this week. We'll see how they look against a questionable KY team.
Shane Beamer is still a huge goober.
Not sure how well the Vols will run the ball against Florida in 3 weeks as I've never seen a team rush for 100+yd through that large of a dumpster fire. Nonetheless, FL always gives us hell and not sleeping on them that game.
Big game next Saturday night, a replay of the 23 SEC championship, Georgia at Bama. Can't help but think GA runs away with a victory but even Shane Beamer could have success with the amount of talent Saban left behind.
FL takes on an undefeated Gus Malzahn led UCF team this week. Very possible upset brewing there.
