Simulcast/Son of Ben combo? Anyone done it?

Has anyone put these two circuits in the same box? Are they too similar for it to make sense? Or are they different and complimentary enough?

I haven't put them in the same box, but I have built them both, and they are not even close to the same thing. I think they can compliment each other quite nicely.

The Ben is never going to reach the fuzz territory, but the Simulcast DEFINITELY does, and is really wonderful for that (and it's whole gain range).

Thanks! One question... the Simulcast needs to be in a taller box, right? IT won't into a BB with the transformer. Is that right? Just trying to plan this out.

It's for bass playing.

Unless you're mounting the transformer off board (which some builders on here have done), that's correct, it'll need to be in a deeper enclosure.

I saw some build reports with that... I'd rather not put it off board to make the build more rock solid.

Put the 2 in a 1590XX (roughly equivalent to 2 x 125B) with an order switch in the middle, I find it makes for a nice format.
