Small Bear Store Open !!!

They re-opened quietly yesterday, though it's cumbersome to navigate (at least on this crappy Safari browser)...

It always was. They couldn’t have possibly made it worse.

They tried! I snagged a few things that aren't being re-stocked and might come in handy.
Are you working on anything this weekend or hit and miss?
I've got a couple of smd boards I want to get flowed and maybe finish an optocoupler test/matcher jig I've been putzing with.

I’ve got a few irons in the fire this weekend.

I’m populating the Sorcerer, Cepheid and ElectroVibe mini with what I have in stock so I can add what I need to the Tayda order I’m putting in next week.

I’m leaving the Rangemaster portion of the Sorcerer unpopulated to tweak the bias resistors.

The E-Vibe mini is getting the Monk Vibe prototype treatment so I need to look over the big ElectroVibe docs and translate the refdes to the Mini.

“The Fuzz” is going through some final breadboard changes as I just finalized and sent away for the 125B boards.

Other than that I just redid my pedalboard and am selling off the remaining fat in my pedal collection so I need to make a few reverb listings!
I'm guessing the El-Cap is not a-monk-st the fat. ;) I'm still considering one.
I too have an EVM to populate. Do you have your photocells matched?

I would think they’d want to improve the navigation over the previous iteration of the site.
Then again, I would also think that they’d remove the items from the store that have been sold out since before the acquisition and are marked as “NOT RESTOCKING”. Seems my thoughts aren’t exactly where it’s at lol

It’s been too long, and I learned to live with out the small bear. Though, I am shown to my last 2 dozen Russian BMP knobs. If Stompboxparts knew what was good for them, they’d carry Russian Muff knobs…and octagon Hammonds. Cause, you know, if it wasn’t for the $40 a month I spend there, they would tank…

I'm too new to know what Small Bear is except that when I started a few months ago I went through an aggravating few minutes trying to create an account and it would not let me.

But I did somehow stumble back to the newly launched site a few nights ago and found that I could open an account and it seemed to be back in business. Snagged some cheap BA282 diodes and some $3.75 enclosure blow outs. I hope they ship......still says "awaiting fulfillment"......

I got my SmallBear order today. It was a little slow in shipping compared to LMSwitches and StompBoxParts, those guys are freaking amazing.

I got a bunch of the blow out $3.75 1590B enclosures, they look fine to me, at least good enough for my own use. The bummer was they didn't include any screws. Not sure if they were supposed to or not, gotta go find 8 sets of screws now.....

BUT, scoring a snot load of BA282's for for .25/ea and 1S1588's for .29/ea makes up for it! Smallbear FTW!

Fixing to build the "King's Hand" overdrive.

I ordered a bunch of the polished 1590B when they were shutting down. They had all the screws together in a separate bag. Could've easily been forgotten/ fallen out while opening. Much prefer the sets of screws arriving inside the enclosure.

Yeah, I got a ton of the amp footswitch boxes a while back, and I thought they forgot the screws too, but they were with all of the 125B enclosure screws in a green 1590B that I got

I got an amp footswitch from them last Fall. It showed up with the screws, but was not drilled…it was supposed to be drilled.

That’s a bummer :/
I got all of mine undrilled so I could do cool fuzz pedals and stuff in them, and they’re not too tough to drill with a drill press, but I imagine they’re probably pretty difficult if you don’t have one. If you do have one, just do the slowest speed available, use cutting oil, and make sure you center punch everything first, and use a wood backer to follow through the drill cuts.

I just double checked inside all the enclosures, no screws. I shot them an email and got a quick response on a Saturday that they're looking into it for me.

If you order anything from Mouser, you can add a bag of 100 screws to your order — I'm always losing the screws to enclosures 'cause I'm always juggling projects, trial-fitting stuff into too-small enclosures etc.

I've been looking for undrilled amp-footswitch boxes from another source, SB's shipping is too expensive to warrant buying the boxes from them.

Like Bricksnbeatles, I thought the amp-footswitch boxes would make great little enclosures for fuzz pedals.

What are these footswitch boxes you speak of?

I have to say the new small bear site is clunky and really sucks ass trying to navigate on my phone
