You can't build one for that. That's like the price of chassis + transformers, no tubes, no resistors, no sockets, no pots, no caps, no wire, no jacks, no cab, no speaker, no knobs, no faceplate, no power cord, no circuit board, no standoffs, no cab feet, no tolex, no solder, no labor.

This is WHOLESALE for the major components for 5w 5F1 Champ, using china transformers, and a blank chassis, no: tubes, sockets, jacks, resistors, power cord and retainer, cab, switches, indicator lamp and bulb or led and mount, machine screws and kep nuts, shrink wrap, wire, pots, fuse and fuse holder, circuit board with turrets or eyelets, labor

I'm guilty of this 😬 (sorta- I'll swap components while it's all hooked up)

I grabbed that amp last time it was on sale, thinking I'd use it for testing, keep behind the couch, etc; but I totally like it. The 8 inch speaker it ships with is a weak spot, but it has a speaker out and is rather authoritative through a 1x12. A little too much in fact, and it doesn't really turn down past the preamp stage.

Caveat, it's uglier than the photos would suggest. Also many improvements would cost more than the amp did, so kind of a hack paralysis there.
