Here is my first 2 in 1build. It is 2 Effects Layouts projects, the Mitt (a Tim) and a Kentaride (a TS10 and a Klon in one PCB). I call it the "Tres Hombres." It turns 3 spaces on my pedalboard into 2, so that's nice.
It started out fun with the Mitt built first and working right away, but then it was a struggle to get to this build report, with many problems and mistake - right up to when I was about finished assembling it, and found a new issue. So it's not pretty inside. I even forgot to put the name (that I spent a day agonizing over) on the f%#@&^g water slide decal! I'm just happy to be done with it at this point.
I did 2 mods to the Klon part, a cap swap that affects the tone knob and splitting the dual Gain to have a Gain and a Clean. That last one isn't as revolutionary as I thought it would be but it is cool.
The TS part currently has 2SC1815 transistors but I have some 2N3904 to try.
In the Klon I tried 1N34A diodes but there was a crackle amongst the distortion so I learned that I could measure forward voltage with my DMM and they were higher that what apparently is ideal so I had some D9E ones that were much lower. No more crackle.
For the Tim side I have a JRC4559 in currently but also have a JRC4558, a NE5532, and a LM1458 to try.
Thanks to @MichaelW for sending me a few parts that were not available for purchase at the time I was ordering everything!
