As soon as my Ungula board arrives I'm ready to build it. I've been thinking about using all 2N3904 or 2N5089 since the feedback of the first three stages locks down the gain anyway. But I know the LED clipping gives more headroom, but in theory lowering the gain by using 390 emitter resistors might do something similar.
I'm just curious if anyone played with emitter resistor values and transistor choices besides what's already been posted on the forum (I read all of the posts multiple times, didn't see much on the clipping vs. emitter resistor).
