Wampler’s The Complete Beginner's Guide to Building Digital Guitar Effects - No Coding Required

I never used FAUST, but did come across it when I was working with other audio processing languages (supercollider, ChucK, Max/PD, etc).

I feel like we could come up with a tutorial as a community. I wonder how much of that course is sourced from this forum.

I imagine you still deal with some of the same problems you would with low/no code.

Is there some connection to Wampler here I'm not seeing?

I don't know about this aspect of the course "You want an established framework to use AI to successfully build anything you can dream up"
If I want to learn something, I don't want AI doing it for me.

Other than that it does look interesting.

I took this online FAUST course a few years ago. I think they are still free unless you want the "Certificate of Participation". The course is partially given by the guy who invented it and another one of the main guys pushing it forward. Don't get the impression that they are actually "there". The videos are a few years old coursework is robo-graded and whatever support you can get is iffy.

FAUST is very cool and powerful, occasionally baffling. The error messages it generates when you make a mistake are the least helpful thing I have ever seen.

That looks pretty interesting- might have to check that out.

The course links to a custom Terrarium PCB (with just three pots) that the examples are written for. Also note that you could use a Funbox or Hothouse to run the examples you create in the course. In the case of the Hothouse, you simply use the faust2hothouse script, which is installed by default with the Faust toolchain. I worked with Brian as he was launching the course to ensure all of the examples worked, and wrote a wiki article for anyone interested.

Happy hacking!

Edit: added link to custom Terrarium PCB.
