Grounding the tailpiece is not a problem. I can just pull out a ground wire under its plate and solder it. Here's how it looks, see the existing jack below it for the preamp + piezo. Far right you can see the new jack I added for the new pickup.Maybe ground a mounting screw, get good metal to metal contact(remove chrome etc from the tailpiece screw holes). Hopefully there's enough metal to metal contact between the strings and the tailpiece and the tailpiece isn't insulated via any coating

And this is the preamp in the upper bout. I hate the way electro-acoustics sound.
So the issues with the tailpiece are: narrow string spacing, tilted angle, low break angle.
The alternative is to install this Tele Bridge right behind the wooden bridge for maximum break angle, remove the saddles and top load the strings. This one has the right string spacing and it's easy to pull out a ground wire and solder it to the side. It's 45 Euros though.
