What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

I might have (re)discovered the secret of sustain in basses: a stiff headstock that cannot move/vibrate sympathetically with the strings and suck the energy right out of them. Was bored at the office today, so I reinforced the back of my thin, noodly headstock with a piece of aluminum, roughly 1/8" (3mm-ish) thick (formerly a Mac Pro door, BTW). BIG difference in sustain, and much less prominent dead notes on the G string. You can feel it right away in your fingers as you play: the neck vibrates significantly less, so more energy stays in the strings. You should try it some day!

Downside: more neck dive, of course.

The acoustic guys have done this as well with Fat Fingers clamp on thingies and capos clamped on headstocks. This would certainly be an extreme version but I'd like to try it.

I've always like "fathead" (CBS era) strats for this reason.

I wonder if it's the extra weight around the headstock, or the extra stiffness, that helps the most. I'm half tempted to do some semi-serious research on this.

Design number 2

This is for all 125b Sized circuits. Just doing some form fitting to make the enclosure fit a little better. Also trying to mallet out the bumps. There are small gaps that are bothering me. I know some will close when i fit screws to hold it together but im also hoping the powder coat will help close some of those as well. Again its a prototype. This one will house @szukalski blue sheep circuit.

Ok heres a 2nd one the spaces are pretty much gone, getting a little better at this:

Electric Druid Flanger for a commission. Just waiting on some multiturn trim pots so I can be extra anal about clock bleedthrough.

Had to get creative with a capacitor (far right) after realizing the BOM called for a few ceramics and not film - only caring bc its a commission. Still not sure if I’m gonna try to swap out the others. Might just parallel some smd caps onto the bottom because I obviously didn’t succeed at desoldering.

I've gone on Envelope Filter quest, Phaser quest, and Octaver quest. Last night I embarked on Fuzz Quest, starting with a FuzzPup FuzzRite. Today, I've whipped up the transistor Muff Fuzz, the Random Number Generator, the Ripper(ton) w/ all the mods, and the power amp Großmaul.

Trying to stay away from explicit octave Fuzzes like the Foxx and Super Fuzz, as I know I love those circuits, and wanna explore some sonic spaces I haven't before.

So far, the Desolate Fuzz is still ahead, though I do enjoy all of these so far. I'll probably mod the FuzzRite with a footswitch in place of the Depth pot, as I find the out-of-phase middle bits of the sweep pretty unusable, but the extremes to be equally pleasing

Finishing touches on a double tracker. I've build two boards - one for Unison, one for Radium Springs.
Red one is Unison. Today I tried the stereo mod in Unison (green wire between the board and output jack) - it's super cool.

I recorded stereo track, just to demonstrate the mod. Zero postprocessing, no IRs, guitar + unison only. One channel 100% wet, one channel dry signal.
