Three different projects on hold. One that I need to swap the electros with low-profiles bc I forgot it was going in a 1590b, one (pair) that I’m waiting on a few parts for that I forgot, and one that I ordered the wrong PCB-mount DPDTs for (I needed this size when I accidentally ordered this size— very different pin spacing).

Finally hitting the home stretch on this particular open source preamp:
Had a scare with some wild instabiIity I’ve never seen for this circuit before, over many years of building it, but it turns out to just not like OPA2132 or 2134. I did push the filter’s resonant gain pretty high, but was already planning on toning it down for the final OS spec. So we’ll have to figure out what the next most likely option at Tayda is, quite possibly just the good ol’ TL072. I’ll probably pop some more uptown SMD jobs on adapters into this build, but I did at least use sockets, which I often don’t.

I tried 400 grit today for the new box I just posted, even better I think. It gave a slightly faceted look, a bit like a jewel light. The 3mm ones should be in soon, it'll be interesting to see if they're as crazy bright as the Tayda 5mm jobs. This is on 9V with an 88K (!) CLR:

It's an fv-1 circuit with stacked boards. It was a nightmare to box

Working on a repair for a friend. The regulator in this pedal was putting out 0vDC. Check out the capacitor next door, and the pads for the regulator. Think it got too hot?
