What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Huh, why's my Kinetic Fuzz so gated? 🤔 1000036697.jpg

Reminder to myself to not build something at 11pm after two back-to-back 8 hour shifts

But, otherwise a couple of opamp Muffyboiz, and some LAL fun.
Wasn't expecting to like the Charonium at all, but I'm really digging it. It does that Filter Matrix thing but with a nifty LFO controlling the resonance

update from last nights rant.
Spent and age desoldering, recutting wires and rebuilding ... and it works

but somewhere along the way the 9mm alpha pot decided to endlessly spin - so who knows what the craic is there! :(
Was so annoyed I went and finished another one. Which worked perfectly

I have to say, I have a lot of respect to folk who do the 1590a thing, is it schutone who does crazy stuff... and top jacks on a similar size is amazing - but what a pain in the arse, (or ass if you're in the US) to put together.

Yep, at first 1590a is exciting, then I just want it to be over, then I just want to throw it.

Huh, they do carry the G now. If they only carried the G2 and offered their powder coat and UV print on it 🥵

There are a few builds that are too small for the B , IMO. I'm no fan of the A. The G gives you a little bit more lateral room to make them perfect for those. The G2 just has the extra height to make jacks slightly less nerve-wracking to drill at home.

My solution for small builds is to add extra features or to throw two of them in a 125B.

I bought a 1590G from Tayda, I wonder if I'll hate it too.
Not as much as one of these. I out a headphone amp in one. Never again.

Yeah, it's pretty low profile height wise, G2 sounds like it would be perfect for small boosts and such

My eyes hurt I rolled them so hard

😉

Exactly my thoughts. @bean had a G series a few years back, and I did a Rat, Green Ringer, and Bean's own Bacon Bits in that size. The G2 would make drilling the jacks less of a perspirant.
My wish is a 125B size with a bit lower walls. Seems weird, but sometimes the taller walls just feel like they’re just a bit too much

Yes, I feel they're too tall also. The 1590B2 is as tall as the 1590N1 (125B), so it seems it's basically that height for alternates, but I haven't studied the Hammond catalog thoroughly.
