What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Money Bags Dan over here 😂 I wish I had that kind of juice🍇🍇🍇
Less than five grand and with gas prices the way they are…..forget about it.
My idea of a midlife crisis is when I eat ice cream at night 7 days straight.
I already do that! If it wasn’t for ice cream i would never consume dairy and be about forty pounds lighter

You'll love it. When I'm cruising the aisles of the grocery store carrying my motorcycle helmet folks just know.... The soccer moms stare in lust, the soccer dads stare in envy, and the kids see an idol.

Most folks worry about the rain or other bad weather, or how you are going to carry a bunch of groceries home....

For me the hardest part is probably not letting anyone see me toss the helmet into the back seat of my Kia Rio.

Christmas in July. Plan is to mod the muffin into a BAT Pharaoh. Ionizer and dung beetle are part of my quest for the perfect fuzz (good luck right?). Magnetron is my first delay circuit as i build up confidence to use the FV1 chips I snagged before i knew what i was doing. and then I am looking for a better MIAB to replace my Lovepedal Superlead. These seemed like likely candidates. oh... and i tested the solder sucker on the wife and she slammed her head into a door. works like a charm. 🤡

I don't think I got a shipping notification for my protoboard yet 😑

I'm running behind on shipments but chugging away at them.

Also, I don't drop off packages at USPS after hours or on weekends anymore, folks keep breaking into the drop boxes at night. It had been happening every year around Christmas for 2 or 3 years, but now it's just a monthly thing. Monday can be iffy as well, since they're usually completely full and locked because of all the weekend traffic.

I don't go inside the lobby since the pandemic but the old guy inside caught me last time and told me I can knock on the back door and he'll take them... then he acted a little irritated when he saw how many totes I had to bring in. He has actually yelled at my wife for dropping them in the Priority Mail kiosk. :ROFLMAO:

This reminded me of when I asked the lady at the counter how to ship an international large envelope/flat ...
Back then they were around $4, anywhere in the world.

Her: It'll be about $14.
Me: Isn't there a cheaper method?
Her: No, $14.
Me: But this is supposed to be a flat.
Her: OH! You need a flat? (points to flat cardboard mailer) Those are flat.
Me: How much are those to ship?
Her: $14

😞

SO I started using Stamps.com to print labels for flats...

It bothered her every time I brought one inside. She'd glare at the envelope, then me, then the envelope again. Bend the envelope, fold the envelope, and if she felt anything inside she'd hand it back to me... I started dropping them in the box outside and never had a problem again.

She's not wrong. Since a flat is to be machinable, it should be flexible. Anything that doesn't bend isn't really machinable, and is considered by USPS to be a 'package.' I think a lot of it comes down to who is processing things, but it can certainly be RTS due to insufficient postage if a 'package' is mailed like a machinable letter. That said, I send PCBs in (padded) envelopes with a stamp or two and haven't had any problems at any point but drop-off.

I can't walk an envelope with a PCB into my post office and hand it to an employee. "That's not machinable!"
I can stick two stamps on it and drop it in the mailbox and it gets where it is going.
I'm OK with that. The USPS is the minimum amount of authority that can go to one's head in a pseudo-governmental role. It's the perfect landing place for people you'd rather not have in charge of a gun and a cop car.

The golden falk and dung beetle are two of the best here imo.

Fill out the survey and give them positive feedback, some of the offices get cookies or cake when they do well. I always write there name down on the receipt and do it.

You can’t fight fire with fire, but it seems that Dan figured out you can fight fire with icing 🧁 😂
