What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Not now, but after my fiancee sells her home and 12'x60' mobile home and 9 acre's of land (5 flat, 3 hilly, 1 the road into Tick Canyon). A great selling point is the mobile home can be rented for about $3k a month and it's about 200 feet away from the home.....

THEN..... definitely then!

I got 2 JBL L100's in 1974 for $300 each (graduation present from my sister and dad) and they got totally trashed in the 1994 earthquake. Time to check these off the bucket list, along with a more modern power amp. The reissues have a 40hz to 40khz frequency range!

Also, got this dearmond volume pedal for dirt cheap on reverb. Bout to put something else in it after I get my Black Friday sale pcbs. Aaaand my brother picked up my old 100w Carvin x-100 head from my parents house in Kansas City and drove it out here to Chicago. This was my first tube amp. I bought it around 2004 on eBay from a guy in Omaha. I drove from KC to pick it up. Super cool dude. He was a tube amp repair guy at a guitar shop. I haven’t played this amp in 15 years. This was the amp I used to play those shows with the Gibson invader from the previous post. Even with the power attenuated down to 25w I still always pissed off soundguys… didn’t care thoView attachment 86537View attachment 86538
Russo’s? Millard Music? Rainbow Sounds?

Class G? Never even heard of that. I'm behind the times!

Gotta say: I love my cheapie Class D power amps based off the TPA3255. This is on a whole different level though.

I figured out how the sheet metal tools in SolidWorks work so I can design amp chassis and have them made for me so I don't have to do anything :P Got a couple in this week for a couple projects that have been on the bench since last year. Cut, bent, and hardware (standoffs and captive nuts) pre-installed, makes my life a lot easier.

I know! I did a double take on that too.

First is fix the roof of the shop, and paint it and the house. Then toys!!!

I use a custom HTML doc as my home page with all the links I use instead of bookmarks. Just added it! This is just the bottom part of about five pages that I use..... More like the icons on a phone than text bookmarks.

Really curious. How much did it cost? I have some dxf's I wanted to turn into chassis but the last place I inquired about wanted me to make 25 of them as a minimum. Ouch.

I did two, this one is a Matchless Lightning and cost $87, I also did a modified Champ and that one was $61. Hardware installation brings the cost up a fair amount, if I didn't get hardware installed they would have been $62 and $46 respectively. Not as cheap as grabbing a blank Hammond chassis from CE Distribution, but not a ton more and a HUGE time savings.

These are thin (40mils) aluminum, but they'll do a wide variety of thicknesses on a variety of materials. It's a neat company, I dig what they're doing.

Still, a decent price when combined with free shipping! Cool..... I literally *hate* standard 5e3 chassis and want my next one to be an easy to work with size..... Bassman just as bad, but more connections, lol...

Haven’t had any time for building lately. These two (ElectroVibe with faceplate and Median compressor) arrived today.

Going to be on the road over the weekend and hope to get to them thereafter. Looking forward no end to the challenges of the EV mini…

Hey bud, just a heads up on your EV Mini build. Make sure you're paying attention to the BOM closely and not mixing up all of the 4k7/47k resistors. I had 3 that were reversed and caused a ton of distortion and the "Chorus" switch to only pass clean signal. Once the resistor issue was remedied, I was vibin'

Thanks, mate. Appreciate the heads-up. I plan to take it slow and easy in any case (IOW, obsessively ticking each component off as I go 😉).

Finally got my 11.11 aliexpress stuff. Full size klon enclosure from landtone. The box for the wah enclosure had holes in it and there were washers falling out of the bag when I opened it. I am not confident that all the pieces for assembly are there. Going to do a dry fit tomorrow and make sure. I also got a few blocks of ebony wood to make truss rod cover for my les paul. Annnnd I got a silly little handheld video game thing that does vintage games up to PS1 era. It’s a powkiddy x55. It’s pretty sweet

Edit: screws for the klon enclosure arent the correct size. gonna have to get creative. or maybe try refund
