Speaking of Ukraine, I recently received a box of 100 GT310Б germanium transistors from an eBay seller located in Poltava. They arrived at my home in the USA about two weeks after I placed my order, and showed up in the original sealed box:
For those who aren't familiar with the GT310Б, it's a higher gain, low leakage germanium transistor that comes in the smallest package that I've ever seen for a through hole transistor. Here's a picture of a GT310Б (center) with TO-92 (left) and TO-18 (right) transistors for comparison:
I took some measurements on my DCA55. The hFE ranges from 53 to 179. None of them had more than 40 µA of leakage, with an average hFE of 108 (median 109) and an average leakage of >10 µA. I also tried them in a couple of simple circuits on the breadboard (fuzz face and rangemaster), and they sound great.
In case anyone else needs a lifetime supply of germanium transistors, the same seller still has a number of boxes for sale at a very reasonable price.
