What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

This arrived yesterday and it feels much higher quality and way more stable than the cheap one I bought when I started this hobby. It really was a POS that fell over all the time and then fell apart in no time at all. The magnetic arms on this one are pretty cool.

That’s the magic there in the middle, I guess?

Whoa, visible germanium junction.

Now that we fetishize Ge transistors just like tubes, I await a future where people pop the caps on their transistors...

... and install little windows in their enclosures, so you can see the germanium...

...and install little LEDs underneath to create a glowing halo effect.

The future's gonna full on rock dude!

Hmmm that can be done. I used to do it to computers, but with thinner metal. See now you got me thinking.

Well, got a snow day from work, which is beyond rare since everyone except me has a truck and has "no problem" driving in a foot of snow.

As luck would have it, my PPCB package came yesterday, so I'll be building a HFD on an Aldirn board as well as the Danube. Man, ever since finding the Skreddy Screwdriver, my overdrive/distortion/fuzz life has been turned on its head. What a grand discovery the Skreddy Screwdriver was!

@swelchy is already ahead of yall with his OCP71's.
