Drilling the enclosure would be my deterrent on this. 12 pots, 4 toggle switches, 2 foot switches, 2 led and 3 jacks would give me anxiety without having access to a milling machine.

You take your time and punch you holes. Start with small drill bit.
Meh, I’ve done ones with similar extensive drilling templates and I do my drilling by hand…..hold my beer
the balanced out would have to go on a daughter board for sure and it would only be one extra TRS jack. Would like for it to be an XLR, but I have a TRS to XLR adapter that would be just fine

I agree with everything....but that.
It worked for running the sludgehammer to FOH w/o issue so meh? Though I will say, w/o a cab sim it probably will sound like a$$. So maybe I should be thinking in terms of adding balanced out to a cab sim board instead

You using a stencil or trying to eyeball it?
Do people use stencils on 8 pin soic dips? Genuinely curious. Use flux, don't use too much paste and it shoukd go where it needs to...

I would have assumed he was soldering an FV1, which is 28pin? I assume? I do have stencils myself and plan on trying paste for SM, so I’m going to see how freehanding it works for me

I haven’t done any 8 pin, but on the fv1 I just ran one bead of paste up each side, no extra flux. Everything in between the pads jumped right to the pads as soon it got up to temp.
