Just as a sidenote, it's a perpetual license but it's valid for only two major versions (the one you buy it on and the next one).

That means it's good for updates for maybe two years? Not sure. Afterwards you have to re-buy it if you want updates, but $60 is dirt cheap in the DAW world and I think pretty much all the other premier DAW's you also need to pay for updates (usually for every version).

I bought Logic Pro X 6-7 years ago and just got the 11 update for free.

As far as I can tell Logic is the exception, partially because it's made by Apple and they make you pay for the hardware instead. But there could be others too, and there are some free DAW's too.

Oh man I finally got to spend some time with this and it’s amazing.

Insanely fast mode detection. It’s compact but doesn’t feel awkward at all measuring through hole components.

I’ve never been able to get good measurements of caps below maybe 33pf and this measured the precision 1pf on the calibration board instantly and had no trouble with anything sub 33pf that I threw at it. Larger capacitances and ESRs lined up with other meters, as did resistors. Transformer inductances lined up with datasheet ranges at least but I don’t have anything to compare those to.

Not sure what currents its measuring diodes at without comparing dca75 results, which is for another night.

I think this pares down 90% of component testing to just these tweezers and my dca75. Continuity check also works great and fast. Thinking/hoping I’ll really only be reaching for a multimeter when troubleshooting board voltages and currents in my far too cramped work station
