What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Hell yeah. I'm tired of living like this. Being unhappy is hell. Tired of this world.
Hang it there, it's over before you'll know it.

I had to retire in 2010 due to arthritis in my fingers. Not good for a contract programmer. My last time punching was at Advanced Bionics. A great sounding hellish job, but I miss it now. Funny how you only remember the good times.

It's a good thing I took my doctor's advice. SSA took one look at the cat scans and said "You're disabled". Had I not stopped typing 9 hours a day my doc said I'd need someone to hold the utensils to feed me. Yeah, not good.

Unfortunately they didn't look at the cat scans for four years, but I got my pay back dated and paid off living from 2010 to 2014 on a home equity loan. You wanna talk about a white knuckle scary ride? It was dreadful.

My wife missed a payment to the dentist office and the home equity loan was cancelled. A week later we got the SSA settlement. Phew. That was a little too close for comfort.

We sued the dentist office for billing us for work that HAD NOT BEEN DONE and won in small claims. Our credit score was returned to 850, but we didn't actually win any money since small claims cannot award punitive damages.

But life is good now. The new door opened in 2014, and it's a pretty good one.

Well, the seller told me the shipping was going to be $385 instead of $26. And I took a good look at the more detailed photos he sent me and there were cracks in the bearing housing, and oil leaking out of the planetary gear area. So I had to fall back and punt on that one.

I already had this in my watchlist, so I contacted the seller and the freight is $420 (my lucky number) and the price was $1500 + tax about $1650. So it's about a grand more but is made out of aluminum instead of steel and is MUCH lighter and not AFU. I can still pickup 200 pounds but only once a day, and VERY VERY carefully since I'm old as the hills.

It’s been a bumpy ride for sure. Glad it all worked out for you and the wife. 850? Daaaammnn I’m close to that by 25 or so points. Working to get there.

It's cool of David/effectslayouts to include the 3pdt daughterboards for each pcb.
A couple of these will part of a Doomy Pifmas in a few months.

I can't wait to try out the new one. I bought a spiral dough hook ($50), since this one has the obsolete style. It's hard to believe, but this hook is A FOOT LONG!

Hobarts have 3 speed transmissions with massive gears and bearings, so the motor is always running at optimum speed/horsepower/torque. More inexpensive mixers have a variable voltage control, so burning out motors is common.

Yesterday marked the 3rd anniversary of my wife passing away. A solemn day for sure. But today marks the first day of the fourth year. I feel reborn for some odd reason. This was just the icing on the cake.

Now, if it wasn't 110f outside..... at least it's a dry heat. It's been an effing sauna since June 1st. Not normal at all.....
