You're killing me. My Mac mini was the last of the Intel versions. And I can't upgrade to MacOS 26.
Trying to decide if I want to get a more powerful laptop (I have a MB Air with the M1) or get another Mac mini for my main rig.
I replaced my 2010 mini last year. I think I hit the upgrade limit around osx 10.15. I took the same consideration. All my peripheral hardware was fine, so I bought an M4 which seemed like the best deal at the time.

So I’ve been searching high and low for a tele that wasnt going to cost me an arm and a leg, was thin line. And had the standard pick up configuration. And also I wanted to feel like I got a good deal. Lol, I don’t want much. So this week a guitar that checked most of the marks showed up. And he agreed to a partial trade for pedals I made. He got a hydra, a two in one mercurial boost and greengage overdrive with order switching. And a little cash. I got a 97 squier protone tele thin line. Plays phenomenally, these are kind of a hidden gem. Cost wise it probably ended up my $ where i wanted to be, and cost me a few hours of labor on top, but its about perfect for what I’ve been searching for.
Now to replace the gold hardware lol

Only because you said it first - yeah, gold hardware is the worst
Really sharp looking guitar otherwise though!
And nice job turning pedals into a guitar! I wouldn’t mind finding a deal like that.

Yep, my Mac mini is only about 5 years old, but I can’t upgrade to 26 either. My MacBook Pro was a 2015. It’s runs just as good as the day I got it. I put a 1TB drive in it. I just couldn’t run new software, like tax software or MS Office 2024. The new air has USB C so I gotta get an adapter to hook anything I have up to it.

The sturdiness of the TO99 package will prove necessary in the construction of our primitive instruments in the after times.
Also hoping to shift to a mostly work from home position later in the year, if I get the position/promotion. Should afford more building time. The 72 hour work week last week sure didn't.

New PTouch printer arrived..
had one of these beasties in my cube the past 8 years, finally bought one for the house. Working through idiosyncrasies of the iOS Brother app, but it’s up and going.
Labeled a GuitarPCB Harbinger Fuzz (Opamp Muff,) build, and my storage bins.

This showed up in the mail last week for me. Its a 2017 Fender Professional all decked out like a David Gilmour Strat. The pickups are the DG set of SSL-5 in the bridge, CS69 middle and Fat 50's neck. It came with locking tuners already and the short trem arm!

Now you just need to figure out a way to keep the baubles on the arm/handle. They never stay put!

one must be bent or I got two different clones, because they're very different shapes…
I got a cheap clone and the lever falls out easily when it's disengaged
