Board from the office:
This is from a static transfer switch.. about 10 years old and today was its last operation. Fortunately just this particular board, but “Major Incident” imparts a sense of urgency to the matter.

This has a shatload of recoverable parts.
Yes, already checked the diodes.. 0.550-.60vF
Pulse transformers, looked up parts value, around 500mH , might have some uses.
There are what I believe are SMT vactrols, other fun potentially recoverable parts too

We have a long term project in the works to replace various internals on quite a few STS units.. I WILL pilfer 😁

Been interested in this ugly ass pedal with stupid control names. Programmable analog dirt pedal with 10 presets and mapping over 128 PC messages. There were six left, now there’s five

DAGNABBIT!

I'm a sucker for stoopidd deals, but then you say how bland it is...

Hmmm should I send one to @Robert? It would be cool to be able to apply the MIDI presets etc to other circuits... were that possible and not proprietary

I’ll see if it grows on me. It does have enough range to set it as a clean-ish boost. But like you mention, I’m interested in how they implemented the digital control layer. I can crack it open. I also am 100% down with sending to Robert if there is an interest.

So I got a Silhouette Portrait 4 in the mail yesterday. Naturally, you’d think it’s to speed up my graphic production workflow and bring more of that process in house, right?

Nope.

As of today, I’m officially retiring from pedal building and pivoting to my exciting new career in arts and crafts. This premium crafting machine has unlocked my true calling.

Also scored a really nice Canon laser printer cheap, an IT consultant friend has client ditched it over “fast” toner usage (starter cartridge shock), so now it’s mine. New toner was $75, paid $50 for it and it still has a warranty.

So yeah, thriving over here in my new scrapbooking era.

When I first got a Cricut it changed my life and I didn't want to do anything else, that shit is cool. But then I got another new machine, and another, and another, and another...
