I realized my DipTrace 1590DD template isn't extremely accurate so I have a bit more room to work with than it seems.

I'm going to try to get the footswitch as close to the center support as possible and see if it's acceptable, otherwise we might have to look into another option like soft switching with a SPST momentary switch so there's more wiggle room.

Regardless, grinding the support column will not be a step in the assembly process. That's just too messy.

I've made something similar to a Hedgehog, Down under we call them Echidna's.
Their made from Saw Blades, Rivets, Reo Bar, Scarifier Blade, Dog Spike & Flat Bar with slots for feet :

The others have gone to Family!
6 - 250mm (10'') New saw blades that cost $54.00 AU total & I cut them all in half!:
