What's your current headache?

Someone used my email to sign me up for not one, but three ...organizations I want nothing to do with, and made me go through some dark pattern garbage to unsubscribe.
Back in the day, I worked with a shady salesperson. He lied about customers lied to customers and borrowed money for lunch he’d later “forget” about.

One day, someone (still unknown) signed him up as a potential car buyer at 30 dealerships. This was pre smartphone era and car salespeople loved phone leads.

Apparently, the one who did this had 6–7 tabs open, pre filled all the forms and fired them off rapidfire.

His cellphone exploded within minutes. At first, he thought he had a customer calling back. Then came call after call after call and his voicemail full in 30 minutes.

Sales justice.

New headache today!

The only other forum I regularly spend time on has started flagging and removing my posts. There's a thread dedicated to Sushi Box FX, so I've been using it to talk freely about my pedals for literally the last 5 years with zero issues, and it's been really cool to interact with people interested in my pedals. Well last week I got a warning for talking about business things without being asked. As a commercial user I am apparently only allowed to answer direct questions when they are asked, and am not supposed to give any other information outside of that. I thought it was weird that my posting has not changed at all in 5 years, and this was the first time I was flagged for it.

Last night I made another innocent post giving information in response to a question, figuring that was fine, and this morning I received another warning that I gave business-related information that wasn't asked about, and was told if I got another warning then I would get a temporary ban. Half an hour later I received a message from another staff member explaining that I could post whatever I wanted if only I signed up for the new sponsored forum option.

Now it makes sense.
Several other friends of mine have left Talkbass due to their extremely inconsistent enforcement of the Commercial User Policy. I self classified as a Commercial User for a number of years even though I had nothing to sell, just so I could keep supporting my open source DIY stuff without hassles from jealous commercial builders. Ironically, a lot of the best input I got was from commercial entities, and at one point during The Plague one of the top onboard preamp makers was even recommending my stuff to his potential customers. Weird since I didn’t have any authorized builders, or any customers save two very obscure luthiers. ;)

pre filled all the forms and fired them off rapidfire.
About 10 years back someone signed me up for close to 14 universities (physical and online) and I'd get multiple calls a day. It was so bad I actually changed my voicemail to tell the registrars to stop calling me.

Going to give it another set of eyes tomorrow and maybe a potentiometer to fix the bias. I’ll get it - it’s always something small and stupid.
Lo and behold, the small stupid: I think I missed the row a jumper cable connected to. I got it boxed up today. This is version 2.
I think I threw out a working previous perf board version because it wouldn’t work (only in bypass). Come to find out the switch was bad, grounding the input. D’oh.

You're gonna need someone to help that clear customs muh guy.
Customs has gotten nuts!
I work for a company that makes MRIs, starts with a P and is based in the Netherlands. They also make toothbrushes, but I don't work on those. We have this happen constantly with parts from overseas. Things we have all the necessary paperwork complete on.
What you see is the new "stuck in Memphis" except after 10-14 days it's going back to Thailand for good.
Gonna need to somehow get a human from DHL on the phone, then 3 more until they have a clue.
I wish you luck.
You can try creating a DHL MySC account. If it shows up as "customs clearance event" over and over, they need something to release it.

This one is UPS, I've never had this problem with DHL. UPS will usually clear things then send me a bill later, DHL will hold them and contact me when I have a payment to make. But I'm going to be calling UPS in the morning on this one, it's been doing this since July 21, and I kind of need these enclosures.

Rodents.

I usually have a big bag of mixed nuts sitting on my desk, and yesterday a big chewed hole appeared in the side of it.

I set a couple traps on the floor under the desk last night, and this morning one of the traps is just gone.

Now I don't know if I've got a chipmunk around here chewing one of it's legs off, or if it got dragged off to some hiding place to die where I'll find it by smell in a couple weeks. I imagine if it was still alive it would be making a racket though, and I don't hear anything.

Edit: Found the trap about 6 feet away with a mouse foot in it.

Quick update: I had 30 minutes in between meetings today so I figured I would give them a call and try to get this figured out. After 15 minutes of trying, I finally got a human on the phone. I explained what was going on, and he said he would connect me with the right department to resolve this. So he puts me on hold, and I got the automated "based on current call volumes, your estimated wait time is 20 minutes." Guess I'll try again during my lunch break.

I just went through this with UPS. Took about 4 weeks and then they finally let it out. No one there had any explanation other than everything looks fine and to check the tracking site for updates. The person you would have waited 20 minutes to talk to probably would have said that.

Well good to know. I'll still probably try during lunch, but I'll temper my expectations.
