I am trying to overcome a burnout that has lasted a long while. Enjoyment from pedal building, guitar building, and simply noodling on guitars vanished into thin air. I am trying to force myself out of it by dipping my toes in the water.

Then this guy comes along on ebay.

TL/DR: You there! Do you build pedals? I have a vision! Watch my YouTube and figure out what that vision is!

Seriously, nobody goes into a department store and tells a worker to decide what underwear they should wear.

Why don't `you throw out a suggestion like your lofi thing with a big digital reverb, like an afterneath?

You don't have to actually go and watch his stuff, just act like you did. Say something like "ahh yeah now I see what you're talking about. I'd love to collab with you. Based on your channel and my experience, I feel you'd love -insert idea here that's easy for you to build-. Please let me know what you think!"

It's kind of like people who go to restaurant and ask the waiter. "What do you recommend?"

The answer is always whatever provides the highest profit margin. :)
Yeah, plus you have half the answer here, in that he liked the lofi pedal and wants a combo. So you just have to think of another circuit that's in the ballpark of ambient and that would work with the lofi whatever it is. Then put the two in one enclosure and charge him whatever you want plus 50 bucks. If he goes for it it's a win win

Whenever I have customers who toot their own horn too much, I refer them to someone else…. Anyone else lol they always end up being more hassle than their worth, nothing satisfies them and they’re cheap.
