Why Should We Clean Boards From Flux?

It is the Omnifixo helping hands. My friend told me about it. It's pretty dope.

That one is 90x180cm and you can combine, stack, move the arms whatever way you want. They are static when you move so are able to be angled and stay that way. They can also be a ground to the board.

I was getting frustrated with my helping hands with the tentacle arms and the old classic one I wasn't going to spend money on.
The magnets on the tentacle one was too strong and hard to move. The clips themselves cut into wires. The Omnifixo doesn't do that.

I also bought a circuit board holder as well but got frustrated with it.

well, I'm trying my best to not spend money...but that looked good enough. Ordered.

People waste time on this? How bad at soldering are you?
Haha. I've got a few dozen builds under my belt, so I think I can say my soldering skills are up to snuff. Since the "norm" in this community is to clean the boards my question is why?

Nice. Thanks!

I'm just gonna come out and say it, flux on the board looks like shit. I take pride in my work, plain and simple. I hate my job some days, Im still the best worker because people are cut open on with instruments and hands in them. Same thing with building. Would you be happy with a surgeon removing your appendix and leaving an ugly ass scar because it doesn't matter how pretty the sutures are🤡😂 I know this is diy, and I'm speaking for me only, but that doesn't mean it has to look like amateur hour. When I look at build pics on the forums or IG and I see flux it screams to me the builder just DGAF, and that is weak tea.

I can tell who has a shitty car that they wash regularly, but the inside is like an ashtray let loose with an infant in a dumpster. The thing that boggles me are the ones with beautifully layed out and executed artwork, but they execute the guts like an ashtray that let a toddler loose with a spaghetti dinner.

I just realized I cleaned the last two boards with lighter fluid instead of IPA. Have i fried them?
