Looks like the BB also uses a TL072 for the 2nd op amp?

I suspect some funky switching could happen around the diode section, sort of like a Timmy.

R12 and the diodes are probably the most noticeable differences. I'll have to find my BB preamp and compare the two.. I misplaced it. Really like the Gauss and really like the BB. Just need to compare them.

I have an actual Mesa Flux drive and it rules. Sounds less shrill and nasally to me than a TS. Really nice with single coils. Try the Gauss, seriously
