Your favorite JIS screwdriver set?

Wera J bits

We have some at work. Branded Vessel - Armor Grip. They work great with JIS screws. Huge difference compared to when we were trying to use Phillips drivers with small JIS screws.

Compared to Erik’s link… it look like the same set. Same grip shape, same price, just printed with English words.

Next question, should I be using JIS screwdrivers on pedals? I’ve always just used Phillips on the enclosures, hadn’t thought to try JIS to see if it fits better.

Great. I saw the vessel set on eBay at a decent price 👍🏻

according to amazon, the kaisi 136 in 1 electronics repair tool kit ... with a jakemy jm-y02 adjusting torque electric screwdriver. anything bigger I use a klein multi-bit driver

Marshall cabinets use pozidrive and they're more often than not buggered all to hell
Fucking right they are.

Jeeeezus I see this all the time at work. Circuit breakers, terminals, contactors, and motor starters all stripped to shit because some asshole didn't realize they were working with a pozidriv.

Thing is...sure. it kinda works. Just like how you can kinda get away with a metric allen wrench in extremely low torque scenarios. Except for 5/16 and 8mm, and 5/32 and 4mm. Those are dead nuts the same dimensions.

But all it takes is one slip...or the application of a drill. Fucking hell. The horror.

I keep telling my coworkers and the electricians I work with about this. Nobody gives a shit. AM I ALONE IN THIS?!?!?

JIS ain't bad. Honestly, most modern "JIS" screws aren't too dissimilar from a modern Phillips. Older stuff, though...

I don’t do much motor stuff, but almost all the (modern) breakers and panel screws I come across are square tip. Which you can also easily screw up (pun fully intended) with enthusiastic mis-application of a Phillips.

I think the main problem is the number of supposedly “skilled tradespeople” who think an impact driver with a #2 Phillips on full-blast is a substitute for any number of hand tools.
