What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Found it on FSB. A klon style od with no buffer or charge pump. Should be interesting.

The brass rings I have don't fit on a 6.35mm shaft without some brute force. After playing some more I don't think this will bother me as much as I originally thought so I'll leave it

Well that sucks. The set I have just slip on. I'll have a look and see where I bought them.

Now playing: a variable high pass filter meant primarily for bass:

Bench testing looked OK but perhaps a little meh, but when I finally got around to listening to it last night I was very pleasantly surprised. Small enough to fit in a 1590A, I think. The next version will shrink a little in any case.

Visited my grandma’s house today and came home with this old transistor radio.

Chock full of ~50 year old WIMA caps! Such mojo! 😂

Y’all think I should clean it up and get it working again, just for fun, or strip out the guts, salvage the many cool tin-can transistors and whatever other mojo parts still have any life in them, and then build a cute little solid state amp into the chassis?

Of the transistors, I’ve only been able to identify one as an af125 and two as af126. Both germanium, though I can’t find much more specs than that.

Edit; also one of these: af178

Can’t read the markings on the other three though
Absolutely restore this radio.

If it is WAYYYY beyond restoration (probably still useful for somebody's restoration of another unit, a friend of mine who restores radios might like to have that, but...), I mean wayyy beyond —

Schumann PLL housing...
...or one of @Pauleo1214's inspiring combo-builds.
...or...?

ok not exactly a pedal, but an ups, i changed all capacitors but i can't find these relays in europe or equivalent, the problem it gives me is a continuous clack and suddenly it goes completely off, so i guess it's the relays , the battery is ok.

might show pics later, I tore the shartcaster apart to FINALLY put my tex-mex p-ups in and redrill the headstock so the klusons aren't so sloppy and I"m looking at the grain poking out I said to myself, flogg it, time to redo the filler work, stick some wood in the big hole so I can change from a bottom loading tremolo to a top loading hardtail before I paint it something other than rattle can red!

Found some tubes at a yard sale last week for a buck each. Decided to try out a ruby tuby build. So far I’m not wowed hoping it’s a bit better in an enclosure.
