I just dont want an overdrive i feel like there would be alot of missed opportunity. What about a muff? Although you wouldn't be able to put an order switch there as it will likely not sound right.
I think any fuzz or heavy distortion is fine. To me the order switch seems pointless I’ll probably leave it out

I’ve never put a reverb in front of any type of drive before. I might just try it and see what happens….if you don’t see my posts anymore just know something went horribly wrong and blew up

So i put my grav reverb in front of my dual tube screamer. And i have to say it almost sounds like i have a piano playing along with me.
It’s an interesting sound. I find that once you get the amount of reverb decay right so that it’s not just immediately washed out you get a bit of clarity before it gets crazy. It works for ambient post rock type stuff think Circa Survive etc

I wasn’t even gonna use the S-wordI don't want to come off as a humbuggering Scrooge-esque gatekeeper luddite, but I always thought that attempting shoegaze tones with any fewer than 12 pedals just isn't the answer.
Yeah or like the buff and blend board from some site I can’t remember basically splits the signal at the input so you can blend wet and dry at the output

Haha oh I have no idea what they prefer I just often wonder WTAF shoegaze is and if more than three people that play shoegaze actually play it outside their bedroom.Do the ambient post-rock types not prefer that term?
