Following on from above, does anyone have a tip for breaking the socket thing into useful sections cleanly? As you can see, mine will work but they look a bit shabby.

What others said about scoring and box cutters or the jewelers saw. I generally cut them to have one extra row in case they explode on me. Then I rip out the extra pin and clip any excess plastic for a cleaner finish. At that price a bit of waste isn't a big deal to me.

I've got one of those EMG gilmour pre-wired guards somewhere. Sounds great but I prefer the G4 noiseless in my strat.

I’m basically a Gilmour hobbyist so you know I need a Black Strat.

I love it it. I’m all about Gilmour, but I use a Les Paul. I will have the black strat, one day. So many guitars so little time…and maybe money. There are a couple more Les Pauls on the list in front of it.

On the next rev I need to move the calibration trimmer and one of the electrolytic caps toward the center so I don't have to file to lid. I'm still really happy with this as a bass comp though.

I did my last set of pedals in a batch (built all the boards, then did the enclosures, then did all the assembly), so it’s been a few weeks since I soldered anything. Nice to get back in optivisor and headphones mode! Just flowed in all the resistors on this Sproing deluxe that will be going into one of my first diy sheet metal enclosures.

Threw in a shot of my cobbled together soldering rig- tall vise gets the board up closer to my eyes, and a little dc fan and carbon filter stuck on the end of a loc-line machine coolant nozzle gets the smoke outa my face.
