What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

I did my last set of pedals in a batch (built all the boards, then did the enclosures, then did all the assembly), so it’s been a few weeks since I soldered anything. Nice to get back in optivisor and headphones mode! Just flowed in all the resistors on this Sproing deluxe that will be going into one of my first diy sheet metal enclosures.

Threw in a shot of my cobbled together soldering rig- tall vise gets the board up closer to my eyes, and a little dc fan and carbon filter stuck on the end of a loc-line machine coolant nozzle gets the smoke outa my face.
I like how you bend the leads!

Thanks! Pinching them together like that works great. Keeps things pretty secure, and gives you room to get the iron in there. I found that trick in a YouTube video from Fuzzlord Effects.

Like most of us I imagine, I build pedals alone, and have never seen someone else do it in person, so little simple tricks of the trade like that are very exciting when I can find them.

This wassss in the Sheet metal thread but since its not done i feel this is more appropriate! Pretty bummed I was a little too rough with peeling off the silicone tape and peeled off the powder coat. I just got some powder coat remover, just waiting on it to come in. The coat is a little thin i think i need a 2nd powder coat. I know what i need to do to get better results.

Should i leave the bare tip? or next time powder coat that part too? Not sure here but im leaning towards powder coating the lip as well. Any tips appreciated.
