Drum Machine

I’m so t have a drum machine I wanted but never use yet. What do you guys use?

I haven’t used them in years (but, then again, I also haven’t recorded anything in years) but before I got into using VSTs, I was a big fan of the Alesis SR-16. I bought it in 1994 and, surprisingly, it’s still being sold.

Arturia Drumbrute. They call it an analog drum synthesizer.

Found it on the used market, i didn't really noticed it before. Around 300 euros.

I've been using it for 2 or 3 years, and i really like how it sounds with various effects, and how it feels to play with it. The wooden edges are a nice touch. I've been fully conquered by it, but i never tried lots of drum machines as comparisons... If i understood correctly, the drum sounds are more or less based on the famous TR-808.

Separate outputs for each instruments is a great feature. On it's own it sounds a bit raw and dry.

Compressors, reverbs, delays, even phasers, and it's much better.

I have a Drumbrute Impact which is really simple to use and not terribly expensive, but for the most part I use an MPC One, which is super overkill if you're just looking for a basic drum machine.

The Alesis is a solid suggestion.

My only drum machine is a Roland Tr-66

Super old unit, just a few preset beats (not programmable) but it sounds rad as hell. I really need to get something programmable at some point tho

Yep, Had one 2, They put a lot of drummers out of work at that time.I think it had alot to do with Staying In Time & Volume control!!!

My Brother & I were a duo for 3 years doing 3 to 4 nights a week at pubs doing old rock & roll & country songs at the start of the 80's using a Roland CompuRythm.

Not necessarily a drum machine, but as a solo multi instrument musician, Toontracks has beyond changed the game for me.

Ya same here- I want to get off my computer as much as I can lately. Go back to a tape 4 track.

Those things are still kind of expensive, last I looked. When my brother passed, I found a tape, but I got nothing to listen to it.
