Your current game play-through

yeah just go for it, it crashes a lot but that's for everyone lol. super glitchy game, but the best coop experience since left 4 dead 2.
k gonna trust ya and see how it does with a rtx 2060 and that extra RAM ... my math says that puts the bottleneck on my CPU at this point

It's interesting to see how the mechanics and leveling/skill systems change from each one. ME2 felt like a big departure… but maybe ME1 was too RPG-y for the CoD bro crowd. Or maybe too slow? IDK, I really enjoyed ME1, so maybe I'm just a curmudgeon?
Well you a rent the only one. The first couple were great. I wasn't so keen on the 3rd. Dragon age trilogy follows the same path for me. Really dug the first couple but was not crazy about inquisition.

Having exhausted the Mass Effect series, I'm waiting for any/all of my Steam wishlist games to go on sale. In the meantime…

What can I say? I'm a man with simple tastes, I only want the best…
(Points if you know the reference)

It's not the best game ever made, but it's the best game I've ever played.

Patiently waiting (it's been years now......) to get my ass handed to me by the new Elden Ring dlc. Pretty bummed it's coming out in June. The last thing I want to be doing is sitting inside during summer playing video games. Will save it for weekend late nights before I go to bed, so I don't miss out on "touching grass" during daylight.

I was playing Fallout 4 again sporadically before the tv show came out. After I binged the tv show I started on New Vegas again. I guess I played 3 much more than I did NV because so much of it was fresh to me. I beat it with the Yes Man ending. I might start back with my late game save and get some of the other endings when I get bored.

I've been wanting to play Elden Ring, but I'm waiting for a sale because the other Souls games never held my attention for long. Maybe they'll run a sale around the time the DLC drops.

Probably the fastest I've stopped playing a game. Felt pretty lifeless :/

I'm playing Fallout 76 at the moment and it is so buggy and broken compared to the earlier games. They just released an update that totally broke the game.
That's pretty funny, because every Fallout game has been famous for how buggy they are. But yes, AFAIK 76 is buggy even by those standards, and it's sad it hasn't been fixed up by now.

I've played through the new Elden Ring expansion except for that fucking final boss which is just absolute bullshit I swear to god...

I've taken a break now and focused more on CS2 since we signed up for a 30+ league with some friends in it, so there's been some incentive to practice.

Even though I've come to like Bethesda's dungeon crawling (not their writing…), I'm not a fan of the micro transaction, in game currency farm of 76.

Waiting for Starfield to a) go on sale and b) see what kind of MT shenanigans Betty might have lined up.

But if it's just cosmetic crud, I'll get it on sale and ignore the hats.

Also, Fallout 4 and Skyrim are both on GoG, which should be drm free… they've been that easy with what they sell in the past, but not sure about now.

I'm just getting around to working on Resident Evil 4 Remake. So far, I'm really pleased with it! I played through the original a TON. Completed the game on Wii (This was the best version don't @ me) probably 20+ times and knew it inside and out.

The remake is cool. I'm only about a third of the way through or so thus far, so take that with a grain of salt. It's definitely familiar and so far hits on all the recognizable story beats, moments, etc. The basic layout/roadmap is largely the same and follows a similar progression. BUT it's got enough fresh stuff to where it doesn't just feel like a re-tread and there's plenty of surprises too - there where many moments where I'd enter a room or something and think "Okay, I know someone's about to jump out from behind this spot" (as they did in the original)...and they don't, only to jump you a little later or something. I dunno, it works nicely. So far, so good.

I bought a Skyrim key cheap, gog is cool and I have a list of shame with games I will never play/finish but they sometimes are some greedy folks (or the publisher).

Keeping up with my niche game interests, I've been very much into Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. It's a pretty old roguelike which puts you in the middle of a... well, let's say "zombie apocalypse", although there's a bunch of other scifi and horror influences thrown in - man sized wasps and ants, Mi-Go's and other extradimensional stuff.

The main aim of the game is to be a rather realistic immersive sim style thing. For example, all your inventory space is based on pockets, so for example a jacket has a few small pockets while a duffel bag will have one large pocket. Pockets have volume, max weight and length restrictions, so you can not put a quarterstaff in a jacket pocket, for example.

It's definitely not for everyone, but I'm really enjoying building my base, figuring out electricity and vehicles (even if they look pretty funky when driving diagonally) and working my way towards a set of tools I can use to build more advanced stuff.

Also had a classic comedy trope happen to me where I threw a grenade at a pretty nasty zombie variant, and afterwards only realized that of course it's the kind of game where you have to pull the pin first 👀

Edit: Shout out to there being soldering irons, breadboards, electric guitars and amplifier heads in the game - soldering irons are used for repairing and building stuff, obviously, and guitars work as a weapon (or entertainment), I think amp heads are only for spare parts though. Breadboards can be used to practice electronics, though, to get your skill up!

I kinda Nightreigned too hard in combination with playing guitar and my typing-heavy job, so I've been taking a break for the last week-plus but it's been a lot of fun. Have a new ergo controller arriving today, stoked for the benefits of offset sticks and mappable paddles.
