Trying to have little stick children with stickwife.

That ain't going too well. Been about a year and a half, three IUI cycles, not enough money for IVF.

Which...well...definitely led to me being like "fuck I need a smoke".

Which makes things more difficult. Cause swimmers.

It seems like the universe is working for Phillip Morris or something. Cause EVERY FUCKING THING makes me want to smoke.

I think it's time for me to drop out of stick society and go off the grid. Learn the ancient art of scaring everybody who tries to come within like a half mile of me.

Pleaseeeeeee. I just wanna be a grumpy hermit.
 
Man, that is a headache all in it's own, trying to get a bud/branch/twig (whatever sticks call it). Damn IVF is expensive.

I quit probably 20 times before I for real quit. I had to stop hanging out with a lot of people for a while.

My father once told me he quit smoking because he was offended by smoker culture and the expectation to bum a smoke. Of course he quit out of spite.

I feel you. We tried for many years before we did IVF, which didn’t work, and then IUI, which did. Shoot me a message if you want to hear more details.
 
A'ite, how bout this one:

Fucking computers.

I piece together my own desktops, upgrading once every five to eight years.

Got a Ryzen 5800X in my current desktop. Some NVMe drives in RAID 0, a handful of SSDs in JBOD.

Still a GTX1080, cause I haven't gamed in close to a decade.

Nowadays, I mostly need the horsepower for stuff like CAD and recording programs.

But...I've had this issue where my 3D printer slicer would tank my OS and reboot from time to time. Didn't know what the deal was. Stopped doing it for a bit. But...

Well, it happened on Friday. And then...nothing. Couldn't boot. Could get to BIOS, but absolutely could not reach my OS.

Tried Hirens rescue on a USB. It worked...eh...intermittently. then not at all.

I unplugged all the drives, no dice. Tried one ram stick at a time, no dice.

Said:fuck it, and bought a replacement CPU. MOTHERFUCKER. That was it.

I ain't even overclocking much over here. Got a massive noctua cooler on there. Fucking thing.

At least, since it's a few generations old at this point, it was much cheaper than when I initially bought it.

I'm still on AM4 but a beast of a cpu.. 5950X 16 core 32 hyperthreaded on X570 Auros Elite and a Asus 3090TI FTW.. I'm a generation or two behind now but my pc is bad@ss. NZXT AIO watercooled too.... I used to overclock my six core builds but with this i've not even had to try because it runs heaven and other benchmarks so fast.

I was thinking about jumping up to that one. Still twice the price though. Don't have the heart.

I'm on the X570S master. Not a bad setup I gotta say. Does well enough...but yours is gonna take the cake!
 
Jury Duty today....I need to figure out a way to disqualify myself in the future. It's the third time in fifteen years. I always get out of it by having "extreme bias" but the whole day is a wash. Just leave me alone! Courthouses make me WAY too nervous.

Sometimes, when I wake up for work at 4am, I find myself singing the Toys-R-Us jingle to myself.

You know: I don't wanna grow up. I'm a toys r us kid.

And then I think, behind that song...there was a warning. The adults were trying to tell me something.

I always ended up getting a summons then never actually having to go in, then I landed on the jury of a case a couple years ago, and I have to admit, I kind of enjoyed it. My work pays my salary for the duration and I still get to keep that sweet $12 a day or whatever of jury cash, so it was like a pseudo-vacation.

Court started an hour later than my work does, and usually got out earlier, hung out with chill people, got a nice lunch, then got to hear an interesting story of police misconduct (dude was guilty AF) and did some 12 Angry Men style detective work during deliberation. We deliberated for like 7 hours though, that was rough.

10/10 would absolutely do it again.

Alternatively, if you *really* don't want want to do jury duty, just start loudly commenting on the gold fringe on the courtroom flag, mutter something about maritime law, and describe yourself as a "Free Man on the Land".

That'll getcha sent home real quick.
 
Cleared out the sidewalk and street from last night’s hardcore storm. Now I gotta find someone to pick up this mess.

I got out of jury duty once. I said well sure he’s guilty, he’s got no credibility. The guy was on trial for writing threatening letters to a judge from his jail cell.
