Your best and worst pedal hot takes? šŸ”„

I would guess because a lot of speaker jack plates are recessed, or that there is never anything so close to the back of your cab that you can’t spare the space. I still wouldn’t mind some though šŸ˜‚
I thought it was a power rating thing. Right angles cause more heat at higher power

Boss pedals have the best design.

If you need a meter on your compressor, you're listening with your eyes, not your ears.
truth ... tell me what it is, tell me what the knobs do, make the whole thing stupid reliable, and fuck off.

I'm a visual guy, I need visual corroboration and confirmation that what my ears hear is correct... but more than that, it'd be even better
— great, in fact —
if there was a LED/Meter/visual-indication-of-some-kind of not only the amount of compression that's happening, but
ALSO visual aid *& clarity of what the CLEAN BLEND is doing.

Why don't compressors have meters for both compression and the clean-blend?

Typically the meter on a compressor is showing gain reduction, what would you expect the clean blend meter to be showing?

I have plenty, some pretty spicy:
  • Good OD pedal into clean tube amp > natural tube breakup
  • Tone-wise, germanium transistors are almost never worth the hassle
  • LM308N really does sound better
  • Phasers suck
  • Linear taper volume pots? A joke
  • OD with built-in boost = worthless
  • Clipping switch = worthless (be honest, you pick your favorite setting and leave it)
  • Big 12mm DC jacks > all others (because they don't look like tophats)
  • And of course, white washers are the devil

What are these? I've never heard of them.
Stumbled across them at HeavyMetalFX (PCBGM's US distributor) while looking for a DarkGlass preamp clone.

Fortunately the HMFX site has good filtering and I didn't have to wade through the 100+ PCBGM-detritus.

PS UPDATE: Found a hotkit that I like:
